Family members suspect foul play in search for missing south Charlotte woman

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police in Charlotte are continuing its search for a missing woman who has not been seen since Thursday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Nia Hantzopoulos was last seen leaving Quail Ridge Drive in south Charlotte around 2 p.m. driving a silver 2005 Toyota Avalan with North Carolina license tag ZVD-3868.

Hantzopoulos’ husband reported her missing Saturday.

Police said she was traveling to Pineville or the Fort Mill area, but has not made contact with her family, who are concerned about her safety.

Family members told Channel 9 they are concerned foul play may be involved in the disappearance.

They said it is totally out of character for her.

Hantzopoulos is 5 feet 1 inch tall with blonde hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
