CHERRYVILLE, N.C. — Police are searching a home Wednesday afternoon in Cherryville that they believe is connected to shots fired at a Gaston County police officer’s home.

A warrant was served at a home on Sedyewood Lane.
Eyewitness News reporter went to the home and saw dozens of officers at the home. Lemon was asked to leave the private home while officers served the search warrant.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom was able to fly over the scene and capture the officers and armored vehicles on the property.
The officer was just getting home from work Monday morning when shots were fired into her home.
The Gaston County police officer was not hit by the gunfire.
There were also two children inside the home and they were not hurt.
Police have not said what brought them to the Cherryville home, but did tell Lemon they have been working the case constantly since the shooting happened Monday morning.
