Police are searching for a man who has been arrested more than 40 times after he cut off his electronic monitor.
Jamil Graves has been on police radar for years, and is now wanted for pending charges including possession of a stolen car and interfering with his electronic monitor, officials said.

Three years ago, Graves was charged in connection with a robbery in east Charlotte, and in May 2017, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit armed robbery and was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
He was then released in 2018. Graves had been on probation until it was revoked and he was sent back to prison.
Graves got out in March 2019 but was arrested again for being one of two suspects caught in a stolen car in May and leading police on a brief chase.
Police said suspects out on electronic monitoring and getting involved in other crimes is a common theme.
The man who owns one of the cars stolen said the system needs to be stricter on repeat offenders.
“Yeah, if they had a track record like that, I don’t know how they’re letting them out,” the victim told Channel 9. “You’d think that after the second offense they’d have a higher bond or something.”
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Graves. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
