CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating the city’s latest homicide after a man was shot and killed in south Charlotte early Saturday morning.
It happened just after 2 a.m. on Conway Avenue, south of Scaleybark Road behind several businesses along South Boulevard.
CMPD is conducting a homicide investigation in the 4000 block of Conway Avenue. 1 person has been pronounced deceased.

Officers responded after receiving reports of shots fired in the area. When they got there, officers found 35-year-old Jonquil Thompson with a gunshot wound in a parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting and so far, no arrests have been made.
This is Charlotte’s 86th homicide this year.
No other information has been released.
