Arrest made days after man found shot to death inside northeast Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested and charged a suspect after a man was found shot to death inside a northeast Charlotte home last Saturday morning.

The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. on Potenza Drive, which is along Interstate 85 near Mallard Creek Church Road.

When officers got to the area, they found 22-year-old O’Bryant Robinson inside a house with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting.

Police identified 20-year-old Jaelyn Morrison as the suspect shooter and CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team found him on Tuesday and took him into custody.

He has been charged with murder.
