Police: NC man stole ambulance, led officers on high-speed chase

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Authorities in North Carolina say a man stole an ambulance, drove off, slammed into a police cruiser and led officers on a high-speed chase Saturday night.

It happened in Greensboro, North Carolina when police say Daniel Williams stole the ambulance from a downtown hospital and sped down Business Interstate 85.

An officer tried to stop the ambulance, but Williams hit them. The officer was hurt, but is expected to be OK.

Eventually, police used stop sticks and arrested Williams.

He is facing more than a dozen charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
