CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a 35-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision in University City early Sunday morning.
It happened just after 4:30 a.m. on University City Boulevard near the Belgate Shopping Center.

Officials said no one made a 911 call after the crash. Officers happened to be passing by the area and found the victim, Aaron Lyle, themselves. MEDIC confirmed the man died at the scene.
Officers said the victim was walking on the westbound side on the road heading towards Interstate 85 from North Tryon Street when he was struck. Police said he was not in a crosswalk and was in a poorly lit area of the road.
No arrests have been made at this point.
Authorities are looking for a silver 2009 - 2011 Infinity G-35 or G-37 with a plate in the rear window. Officials said the car will be missing the lower-front right bumper and headlight. The car may also have windshield damage.
