Police: Man accused in University City homicide turns himself in

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The man accused of shooting and killing another man in University City has turned himself in, according to police.

Alexander Miller was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Stephon White on Thursday.

Police found White on Mallard Creek Road after someone him drove him there from Bells Mill Drive. White later died at the hospital.

Investigators have not released a motive in the killing and if the two knew each other.

White’s death marked Charlotte’s ninth homicide in 2017.
