MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Police are investigating a shooting that left more than 20 people hurt in what detectives described as a “targeted act of violence” early Sunday morning in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Miami-Dade police director Freddy Ramirez said the El Mula Banquet Hall was rented out for a concert from Saturday into Sunday morning.
Patrons were standing outside for the concert when a white SUV pulled up. That was when police said three people got out of the SUV with assault rifles and handguns and opened fire into the crowd.
20-25 people were shot and 2 people were killed, police said. Victims were taken to several area hospitals, some in their personal cars according to police.
I am at the scene of another targeted and cowardly act of gun violence, where over 20 victims were shot and 2 have sadly died. These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice. My deepest condolences to the family of the victims.
