Police: At least 20 people shot, 2 killed at Florida concert

Officers are investigating a mass shooting at a concert in Northwest Miami-Dade (WPLG)

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Police are investigating a shooting that left more than 20 people hurt in what detectives described as a “targeted act of violence” early Sunday morning in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Miami-Dade police director Freddy Ramirez said the El Mula Banquet Hall was rented out for a concert from Saturday into Sunday morning.

Patrons were standing outside for the concert when a white SUV pulled up. That was when police said three people got out of the SUV with assault rifles and handguns and opened fire into the crowd.

20-25 people were shot and 2 people were killed, police said. Victims were taken to several area hospitals, some in their personal cars according to police.

“These are cold blooded murderers that shot indiscriminately into a crowd and we will seek justice,” Ramirez said in a statement on Twitter.

Police are now asking the community for help as they comb through surveillance footage and gather evidence.
