CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man died at the hospital Sunday morning following a shooting in northwest Charlotte.
Officers found the man with a gunshot wound around 1:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of Palm Breeze Lane.
Authorities said several shots were fired outside a home during a gathering. They said they believe there was approximately 50 to 100 people at the gathering.
“We understand there may have been a party at that address, and we want people (to) call Crime Stoppers,” CMPD homicide Detective Chris Lyon said.
Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Torrianao Devone Joyce from Charlotte.
Detective Chris Lyon said they've talked to people who hosted that party, but there were several faces in the crowd they didn't recognize when the shooting started.
“We need those people to come forward and talk to us about that information,” Lyon said.
Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
Officials said they are still looking for the shooter.
