CHARLOTTE — An 18-year-old was shot and killed in west Charlotte on Sunday evening, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on Eddington Street, just off West Boulevard.
Responding officers say they found Caleb Thompson shot.

MEDIC took the victim to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Investigators are trying to figure out who is responsible by speaking with witnesses who might have information that could lead to an arrest.
“We always ask for someone to come forward; you may have seen something and not realized it was pertinent to the investigation, for example, someone walking, a car, something on your ring camera, or something like that, so again asking for folks to come forward,” CMPD Major Jackie Bryley said.
The police have not said what led up to the shooting.
