CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a deadly crash in Ballantyne near the Johnston Road overpass after a car slammed into a guardrail Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. and blocked a portion of Interstate 485 for hours.
Channel 9 was at the scene as a tow truck worked to remove the car from the median.
Medics pronounced one person dead and transported another to a hospital with minor injuries.
No names have been released.
