According to police, the motorcyclist, Taylor Stutesman, was rushed to the hospital, but he did not survive.
The other driver, Dante Ybarra, was not hurt in the crash.
Officers said the driver of a car headed eastbound on Fairview Road went to make a left-hand turn on Piedmont Row Drive and turned into the motorcyclist’s path. The motorcycle was traveling westbound and struck the passenger side of the car. Stutesman was thrown from the motorcycle.
Ybarra was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and unsafe movement.
Police said speed is not a factor in the crash and that Ybarra was not impaired.
Channel 9 crews on the scene could see a motorcycle on its side in the road and what appeared to be a car involved. CMPD officers had blocked the westbound lanes of Fairview Road while they investigated.
No other details have been released at this point.
