Police identify man found shot, killed near west Charlotte intersection

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death near a west Charlotte intersection Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the intersection of Willilyn Lane and Huntwood Drive just before 7:30 a.m. for an assist MEDIC call.

When they got to the scene, they found 41-year-old Joshua Cox with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting and no arrests have been made.
