Responding officers said they found a man in the parking lot who had been shot. He died at the scene.

Police identified the victim as 48-year-old Richard William Carter Jr.

Detectives were canvassing the area to try to find anyone who witnessed the shooting.

Channel 9 spoke with neighbors who said they’re concerned about the violence.

"It makes me sad every time. I heard that, and I don't know them personally, but I can't imagine somebody knocking on my front door telling me my child was shot down,” resident Ada Kante said.

Police said they're reviewing surveillance video for any clues that may lead to an arrest.

"This is a highly traveled area and we know some people came through and walked through. We are pretty sure there are some witnesses out there so we are asking people for help," CMPD Major Gerald Smith said.
