CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was investigating a deadly crash Wednesday afternoon in northwest Charlotte.
Police said they responded to the accident involving three vehicles just after 4 p.m. on Moores Chapel Road near Old Mount Holly Road.

CMPD said a 2003 Infiniti G35 was hit on the driver's side after it pulled out in front of a tractor-trailer. The Infiniti then hit a 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350.
The driver of the Infiniti died at the scene, police said.
Neither impairment nor speed was a factor in the crash, according to detectives, and no charges have been filed.
The identity of the driver who died has not been released.
The area was shut down for hours during the investigation.
