CHARLOTTE, N.C — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a 3-year-old was shot Wednesday morning in west Charlotte.
Officers responded to the scene around 10 a.m. on Nobles Avenue near Innovation Drive.

The child was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials say.
After investigating, police believe the child’s injury was self-inflicted.
