CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Police Department is investigating two armed robberies that occurred over the weekend.

According to police, the first robbery happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday at the Speedway gas station on Warren C. Coleman Blvd. near Wilshire Avenue Southwest.
Authorities said the second robbery happened the same day around 10:15 p.m., at the Bojangles’ off U.S. Highway 601 South next to McDonald's.

The gunman in each of the robberies was dressed in black clothing and wearing a white clown mask.
Police said Tuesday they arrested Jaythien Isiah Cartagena and charged him with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
