CONCORD, N.C. — Some are questioning whether Concord Mills is a safe place to be after a 13-year-old girl was shot to death in December outside the mall and an armed robbery happened over the weekend in the parking lot.
Despite some high-profile crimes at the popular mall, the reality is it’s not as bad as it seems, according to the Concord police chief.
“The Concord Mills area is extremely safe in terms of the criminal stats,” Concord Police Chief Gary Gacek said.
