NOW PLAYING ABOVE

A Charlotte man was arrested after police said he kidnapped and assaulted a woman he had been dating.

Police said Christopher Fore, 39, drove to the woman’s home Wednesday in Iron Station after accusing her of having another man at her home.

The woman said her boyfriend broke into her home in this community near East Lincoln Middle School and beat her on Wednesday.

She said she screamed for her life, but her neighbors did not hear her.

She says she even pulled a gun on him, but he took it.

The woman said she thought she was going to die as Fore held her at gunpoint and drove her first to Hickory, then to his mother's home in Charlotte.

Investigators said as they drove he threatened to drive into oncoming traffic and kill them both.

Police said Fore's mother persuaded him to take the woman to Carolina's Medical Center.

They told ER staff she was beaten outside a Walmart.

A domestic violence coordinator at the hospital spoke to the woman one-on-one and she told the coordinator she had been kidnapped.

“She was scared for her life. We know she did sustain substantial injuries.  She definitely has been hurt and terrorized,” said Lt. Tim Johnson with Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

She went into surgery Friday for injuries to her face.

Christopher Fore is in jail, facing several charges.

Investigators said they are still gathering evidence and looking for people who may have seen Fore and his accuser.
