CONCORD, N.C. — Police said they arrested a man after a fight led to a shooting Thursday morning in a Concord neighborhood.
The shooting happened just before 9:30 a.m. on Lemley Road near the Afton Village area.
CPD is currently responding to a report of a shooting in the area of Afton village. The suspect is a B/M wearing red sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt and is armed with a firearm. The suspect is possibly in the area of Dorton Park. Officers are in the area. / ral

Police said Ronnie Lee Metts Jr. and 38-year-old James Hendon got into a fight inside their home. During the fight, Metts shot Hendon twice and ran from the scene.
After a brief search, police said they arrested Metts at an Atrium Health building on Poplar Tent Road.
According to police, Metts was unarmed at the time of his arrest, but officers later recovered a gun believed to be used in the shooting. Investigators said Metts hid the firearm in a wooded area along the right of way on Poplar Tent Road.
Metts was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is currently in the Cabarrus County Jail under $500,000 bond.
Hendon is being treated for his injuries at a local medical facility, but is expected to be OK.
