CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Piedmont Natural Gas has issued its annual winter bills forecast for the upcoming season from November through March. It applies to residential customers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
The company noted in its forecast that the upcoming winter period is likely to be significantly colder than last year’s winter, which will lead to higher heating bills.
Piedmont’s forecast estimates that the average customer’s monthly natural gas bill will increase by approximately $20 to $30 per month.

The company also noted that the wholesale cost of natural gas is higher relative to last winter and that will contribute to higher natural gas bills.
