BELMONT, N.C. — Piedmont Lithium Inc. announced Tuesday that it has reached an amended agreement with Tesla Inc. to supply the electric vehicle maker with battery materials.

The Belmont-based company said the amended agreement between the parties calls for Piedmont Lithium to supply spodumene concentrate, or SC6, from the North American Lithium project in Quebec. Piedmont Lithium is working with Sayona Quebec to restart SC6 production there this year.
Piedmont Lithium said it is working to restart SC6 production at the North American Lithium site in the first half of 2023.
