CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina’s first JW Marriott — a high-end flag of Marriott International Inc. — welcomes its first guests on Tuesday.
“I think the timing is right. I think there is a need and opportunity. I think it speaks to the growth of Charlotte and the marketplace,” says Tom Dolan, director of sales and marketing for the JW Marriott in Charlotte.
Guests should expect that 381-room hotel to deliver when it comes to luxury — and be a driver in helping attract meeting, conventions and events to Charlotte, he says.
The high-end hotel is part of Ally Charlotte Center, at the corner of Stonewall and College streets in uptown. It sits across the street from the Charlotte Convention Center. White Lodging and Crescent Communities are co-developers of the 23-story project.
“There’s a nice luxury segment that is finding its place in Charlotte,” Dolan says. “The luxury brand is more of an experience.”
