CONCORD, N.C. — Part of a former Kmart property in Concord has been adapted for use as an entertainment venue that offers bowling, an arcade and other activities.

Stars and Strikes recently opened at 545 Concord Parkway North, at the corner of Poplar Tent Road, taking up more than 58,000 square feet of an old 175,000-square-foot Kmart store that closed in 2017. An affiliate of Charlotte-based MPV Properties bought the 26-acre center for $5.9 million in July 2019 with plans of redeveloping it for retail and entertainment uses, and creating a “multitenant income producing investment,” CBJ reported last year.
Called Concord Station West, that center has 38,385 square feet remaining for lease in the old Kmart building as well as two outparcels still available, according to MPV’s website. Georgia-based Stars and Strikes joins Elevation Church and an American Freight appliance, furniture and mattress store at the former Kmart space.
