Petit Philippe owners talk plans for expanded wine, chocolate emporium

CHARLOTTE — Petit Philippe plans to set down roots next year in a stand-alone building at 4001 Park Road.

Husband-and-wife team Mark Meissner and Casey Hickey bought that 4,960-square-foot building — most recently Park Road Quick Cleaners — for $1.75 million.

They’ll transform that space into an expanded emporium for their concepts, Petit Phillipe and Twenty Degrees Chocolate.

“We know we’re investing in ourselves,” Meissner says. “I think we felt like it would be a good path forward to own our own real estate.”

The couple’s popular wine and artisan chocolate tasting room has been a fixture on Selwyn Avenue for a decade. Meissner is behind the wine selection and tasting room, while Hickey creates small-batch chocolates and other sweets under the Twenty Degrees Chocolates brand.
