STATESVILLE, N.C. — A thief stole about $20,000 of jewelry on Saturday from Michael's Gold Mine in Statesville.
Police arrived and found glass broken and tire tracks in front of the window.
The person was seen in a surveillance video driving a dark-colored, early 2000s Buick passenger car, into the front window. The person got out, ran in the building and grabbed jewelry from the display case.
The thief appeared to be a white male wearing a black and red jacket.
The robber was in the building for less than a minute, got back into the car and left.
