CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is dead after his car crashed and overturned in east Charlotte early Saturday morning, police said.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. on East W.T. Harris Boulevard at North Sharon Amity Road.
Officers said they believe Glenville Walker, 31, was speeding when he came upon a left curve in the road and lost control of the car, which ran off the right side of the road. They said the car hit a power pole and rolled over.
Officials said Walker was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to authorities, they believe alcohol use and speed were factors in the crash.
No other details have been released.
