YORK COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead after being hit while riding their bicycle in York County Monday morning, officials said.
Jennifer Phillips, 36, was driving on Highway 161 near Flat Rock Road when she hit the bicyclist from behind and the victim was thrown from the bike, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The victim was confirmed dead at the scene.
Authorities said Phillps was charged with traveling too fast for conditions.
