CORNELIUS, N.C. — Lake patrol officers said they have responded to 15 calls of people jumping off a Lake Norman cliff at an apartment complex in Cornelius.
The trespassers have to climb a fence at the Sailpointe Apartments to get to the cove's cliff.
This has not only been a nuisance for residents, it ties up police resources.
“We divert a lot of resources into this small cove when we have 100 miles of shoreline we could be focusing on,” Sgt. George Brinzey, with the Cornelius Police Department, said.
