WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday night in Watauga County, troopers said.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 321 near Old U.S. Highway 421 west of Boone.

The person was walking across the street when they were hit.
The road was shut down for about two hours.
There were no charges as of Monday night and there were no contributing factors associated with the collision.
