YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Troopers in South Carolina are investigating a crash that killed one person and seriously injured four others over the weekend.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened Saturday, around 8:30 p.m., on S.C. Highway 5 near Estate Drive in York.

Troopers said two people were on the side of the highway working on a disabled vehicle when two other cars collided, causing one to flip and hit the people on the road.

The drivers of both cars, one passenger, and one of the people standing on the shoulder were taken to the hospital. We don’t know the extent of their injuries.

The second person standing on the shoulder was killed.

The crash remains under investigation.
