CHARLOTTE — Two people were hurt and one was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer in northwest Charlotte early on Saturday morning.
Police were called to a crash involving three pedestrians along Brookshire Boulevard near Mount Holly-Huntersville Road around 12:47 a.m. on Saturday.
At the scene, MEDIC pronounced a juvenile pedestrian dead. The second pedestrian, Samantha Anita Murray, 34, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The third pedestrian was another juvenile and was taken to the hospital with no injuries

Officers say the driver of the tractor-trailer, stayed at the scene and was not hurt.
Police say the three pedestrians were walking west across Brookshire Boulevard in a crosswalk when two of them were hit by a tractor-trailer. Officials say the tractor-trailer had a green light at the time of the crash.
Officials say the pedestrians were crossing Brookshire Boulevard when there was a solid red hand displayed on the pedestrian crossing sign.
Police say the driver was not impaired, and speeding was not a factor in the crash.
The investigation into this crash is active and ongoing.
