BELMONT, N.C. — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train Sunday afternoon in Belmont, officials said.
Officials responded to the call around 1 p.m. near 5th Street Extension.
A witness told Channel 9 that a man and a woman were walking on the tracks when the train came. The witness said the man jumped out of the way, but the woman did not.
Police have not revealed the victim's name.
