CHARLOTTE — Pastor Robyn Gool with Victory Christian Center has died, according to community faith leaders.
The church announced that Gool passed Friday evening after a long illness.
“As his condition worsened, and he was at home most of the time,” his wife Marilyn Gool said. “Sunday morning was a time to look forward to for his favorite thing to do, teaching the word of God.
The church said the family is requesting that there be no visitations while arrangements are being completed.

Hundreds commented on the church’s Facebook post, calling his death a “change of address” reuniting him with God.
“Pastor Gool was truly an example of a man after God’s own heart, committed to fulfilling his purpose,” one person commented.
Gool graduated from Oral Roberts University. He said it was there that he received the gift of the Holy Spirit, met his wife and was called by God into ministry.
In 1995, Robyn Gool was conferred an honorary doctorate degree by Indiana Christian University.
“One of the things I’ll really remember about him is his spirit of humility, and servant leadership, had a lot of people he was connected with, but you’d never know it because of his humble spirit,” said Tiara Cloud, the marketing and promotions director at Victory Christian Center.
Victory Church is holding a Celebration of Life Service for Gool on Nov. 28 in the church dome.
The time will be announced later.
Victory Christian Center, established in 1980, identifies itself as a non-denominational Christian church where everyone is welcome.
