OAKBORO, N.C. — The day after Hurricane Florence passed through, most places have seen the water recede.
That was not the case at the Hill Ford Road bridge over the Rocky River in Stanly County.
"I didn't expect it to be like this today," Oakboro resident Kellie Clark said.
The Clark family said the bridge along Hill Ford Road has seen flooding problems before.
"As of right now, it doesn't look like it's washed out, but I'm sure it'll wash out a little bit by the time it recedes," Jeremy Clark said.
There was a similar scene a few miles away at Booger Holler Road where there were downed trees and a bridge that crumbled from the impact of strong waters.
Billy Taylor said he's lived in the area for 30 years and has seen nothing like it.

"It's really unbelievable to see all that happen at one time," the Oakboro resident said.
