CONCORD, N.C. — A portion of one of Concord’s major connectors between Branchview Drive Northeast and Concord Parkway North will be closed to through traffic due to construction for about nine months.
The culvert replacement project on Country Club Drive Northeast, aimed to prevent further erosion and washout, is scheduled to begin on April 12.
The current pipe culverts will be removed, and new double-barrel culverts will be installed, which will include the relocation of storm sewer lines, water mains, utility work, and pavement reconstruction.
The city said officials notified impacted residents.
Businesses and residents will have one route in or out instead of going in either direction, which will be a hassle for some.
“Usually, I take a right out here to go on the interstate,” resident Erik Miller said. “Now I’ll have to go all the way around, and it’s a little bit of a longer stretch to go through.”
