The lawsuit claims the charter school in Huntersville segregated students with disabilities for testing, unfairly punished Black students, and was indifferent to harassment between students.
It also claims the school retaliated against teachers who raised concerns.
In one example, the suit says the school fired a teacher who reported that a group of white students were harassing Black students, those with disabilities, and Muslim students.
The suit is for damages to be covered by the defendant.
Channel 9 reached out to Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy and Charter One for responses. We are waiting to hear back.
