Panthers a top-10 NFL team — for fan attendance

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers finished last in the NFC South this season and fired head coach Ron Rivera. But at least the team can feel good about its attendance.

The Panthers ended the 2019 season among the top 10 in the NFL for fan attendance at home games, according to ESPN statistics. The team, which had a 5-11 record, averaged more than 72,000 fans a game at Bank of America Stadium. That was good enough for eighth place among the league’s 32 franchises.
