CHARLOTTE — In less than two days, veterans of the Carolina Panthers will head to Spartanburg, South Carolina, for training camp.
However, the new running back, Miles Sanders, has a last order of business before leaving town.
On Sunday morning, Sanders hosted about 400 students at Rocky River High School for a free youth football camp.

The effort came from the Sanders’ Dream Foundation, an organization the professional athlete began alongside his mom. Together, the pair hopes to focus on children in both the Charlotte and Pittsburgh communities.
“At the end of the day, I remember being one of these kids too, so I looked up to certain players like me and thought they were like superheroes,” Sanders told Channel 9. “I embrace that, and all I’m trying to do is make their day better.”
Both boys and girls participated in Sunday’s camp, with some of the players as young as six years old. The large turnout was so unexpected that the organizers of the camp had to order 15 more pizzas.
