CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 9-year-old local girl’s passion for music and singing landed her on Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s show, “All in With Cam Newton.”
Emerson Carter is a regular at coffee houses in the Lake Norman area, where she has performed her original music and popular cover songs.
She learned about Newton’s show through an email she received from the Girl Scouts and decided to apply.
Newton’s show helps to push kids closer to fulfilling their dreams.
“We were so shocked when we got the call that Emerson had been chosen for the show," Emerson’s mother Heather Carter said. “To be inspired by a leader like Cam and have this opportunity is truly game-changing for Emerson.”
Her episode airs Friday, Sept. 30 on Nickelodeon, where you can see Newton arrange for a special visit with a Grammy award-winning group who performed one of her original songs.
The show starts at 8 p.m.
