CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper and new head coach Matt Rhule are reaching out to the community and the pair were spotted at Brooks’ Sandwich House on Tuesday during a surprise visit.
Jourdan Rodrigue, from The Athletic -- and a regular guest on Channel 9’s Panthers Gameday show -- posted some photos of the two on social media.
The images show Tepper and Rhule outside the popular NoDa sandwich shop, enjoying the food and meeting the Brooks family. The Panthers also posted more images of the surprise visit.
The business just re-opened this past weekend after co-owner Scott Brooks was robbed and killed outside the restaurant on Dec. 9.

Scott’s twin brother, David, considered not ever reopening the business, but after seeing the community rally around his family, he did.
That support is still growing.
Rhule, who is relatively new to town, got a chance to stop by and enjoy the food that's become a staple in Charlotte for the last 60 years.
According to Rodrigue, Tepper even let Rhule pick up the tab.
“It’s nice to see someone still interested in old-school stuff like we are,” Brooks told panthers.com. “It’s great. It tickles us to death for them to come up.”
