Pageland police officer fired after being charged with domestic violence, authorities say

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, N.C. — A Pageland police officer has been fired after being charged with domestic violence in Chesterfield County, authorities said.

On Monday, deputies responded to a dispute involving Desiree Threatt, who was off-duty at the time. After investigating, the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office charged Threatt with domestic violence second-degree.

Threatt had been with the Pageland Police Department since July 6, 2022 before being terminated.

“It is the expectation of the Pageland Police Department that all officers conduct themselves both on and off duty in a manner that reflects high ethical standards consistent with the values and mission established by this agency and the expectations of the community it serves,” Chief Dean Short said in a statement. “Public trust demands integrity, transparency, and accountability. That’s why we’re proactively sharing the facts with our community.”
