Owner of house cleaning service confesses to stealing blank checks, deputies say

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — The owner of a house cleaning service was charged Monday with cashing a stolen check at a Lincoln County bank.

Tiffany Noel Bottenfield, 28, owner of Heavenly Household Cleaners in Fort Mill, confessed to stealing five blank personal checks, according to authorities.

Bottenfield told deputies that she deposited a check in June for $125 at a BB&T ATM in Denver and immediately withdrew the funds.

According to deputies, the business owner used the four remaining checks to deposit over $1,000 at banks in Gaston County.

Bottenfield is charged with one felony count each of obtaining property by false pretenses, uttering a forged instrument and forgery by endorsement.

She was released on a $7,500 secured bond.

Fort Mill police are also investigating the incident.
