BEAUFORT, N.C. — The Foundation for Shackleford Horses is looking for information about three young men it says harassed a mare and foal on Friday afternoon, WCIV reports.
In a Facebook post, the foundation says a visitor reported seeing three men trying to capture the foal for photos and chasing the mare. Officials say the mare and foal became separated, which could put the foal at risk of death. The foundation says the incident took place around 4:30 p.m. near Wade Shore in Beaufort, North Carolina.
The horses were found together Sunday morning, the foundation reported, but officials are still looking for the three men involved.
