WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — An outbreak at the Watauga Humane Society could kill dozens of cats.
The disease called panleukopenia is not contagious to humans or dogs.
It's transmittable through bodily fluids and at least 10 cats at the WHS are sick.
Officials aren't sure how it started.
They're calling anyone who adopted a cat since the outbreak began at the first of the month.
