CHARLOTTE — A new out-of-this-world exhibit has landed in Charlotte and now you have more time to check it out.
Blumenthal Arts is hosting the immersive experience, “Space Explorers: The Infinite,” at its new space in the Iron District, formerly home to Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, from Sept. 20 through Jan. 5.

“Space Explorers: The Infinite” is inspired by NASA missions aboard the International Space Station and visitors can use virtual reality to experience 360-degree videos captured in space.
The exhibit was originally scheduled to close in mid-November, and Charlotte is the only city in the Southeast offering the experience.
“People want to see themselves in the whole experience,” said Tom Gabbard, CEO of Blumenthal Arts. “They want to touch, they want to feel, they want to see themselves in it. They want to be with their friends in it.”
The exhibit marks Blumenthal’s return to immersive programming following the success of the “Immersive Van Gogh” exhibition, which sold more than 300,000 tickets.
“Space Explorers: The Infinite” is open to adults and children ages 8 and older. Ticket prices start at $29.95.
The Iron District is at 904 Post Street.
