If you see an officer on Wednesday, be sure to tell them thank you.
National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is Jan. 9, where groups call on people to support those who put their lives on the line for our safety.
Several groups, including Concerns of Police Survivors, the FBI National Academy Associates and the Fraternal Order of Police, have joined forces to spread information about the day.

There are several ways people can show their support. They can wear blue clothing, send a card of support to their local police department or state agency, turn social media channels blue or shine a blue porch light to show your support.
