CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After being closed for more than two months due to COVID-19, Optimist Hall has reopened its indoor and outdoor dining areas. The modified on-site dining plan includes a new takeout protocol and limiting occupancy.
For starters, designated one-way entrance and exit doors will limit the number and flow of people inside the building. The new traffic flow plan, along with social distancing signage, will direct patrons through the food hall to ensure minimal contact with others. In addition, each store will limit the number of customers shopping at one time.
Also, as part of the new ordering process, there will now be a pickup station outside of the building where you can wait for your food instead of congregating inside the hall. Orders can be placed in person at each stall or online.
Seating inside the hall has been reduced and will be limited to six people per table. Additional outdoor picnic tables and tents have been placed on the lawn to the east of the building, and restaurant furniture has been rearranged so that all tables are placed 6 feet apart.
Tenants and kitchen staff members will be screened before beginning work and required to wear protective masks and gloves as well.
All high-touch areas will be frequently cleaned, and additional hand sanitizer stations have been placed at all entry points and restrooms. Tables will also be marked “clean” or “dirty” so customers will know which tables to use and additional trash cans have been placed in the outdoor seating areas.
