Authorities said a woman was taken to Carolinas Medical Center by a friend after being shot several times. Police said she is expected to survive.

Investigators also said a man was shot and was taken to the hospital by a friend. He also will be OK, police said.

Detectives believe the woman was not the intended target but was with a man who was being shot at.

Channel 9 crews could see crime scene investigators roping off the street and placing dozens of evidence markers on the ground.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released any other details.
